Martyn lives in the South West yet has a truly global existence travelling worldwide to run sumptuous events. He has a wealth of experience in the world of personnel and event management having served as an Officer in the Royal Navy for 27 years and latterly running a motivational speaking agency.
A tenacious individual with a most unusual career history who certainly relishes a challenge! Trained by the SAS and US Navy SEALs, he has climbed on Mount Everest, lived in the Arctic for 9 years, fought a war (twice!), walked across burning coals thousands of times and been stalked by a Lion in Africa! He is also an Arctic, Desert, Jungle and Temperate extreme climatic survival training specialist and was the Managing Director of a large UK based adult educational facility prior to retiring from the RN.
Having been fortunate to be schooled in Etiquette at the stunning Royal Naval Staff College in Greenwich and at the Britannia Royal Navy College Dartmouth his tact, humour and diplomacy are held in the highest regard. He has been MC to dinners and celebration events onboard Nelsons Flagship HMS VICTORY, The Royal Yacht Britannia, HMS WARRIOR 1860 and a number of other stunning high profile locations both in the UK and overseas. As a full Equity member for over 10 years his TV credits include BBC1 Inside Story, BBC1 Are you Super Human, BBC2 Survival Steady Cook, BBC2 Doctor In the House, Presenter of NZ2 Shock Treatment and co-presenter for C5’s Fugitives Series.
